Lyndsey Dixon has spent two decades in publishing, nurturing her innate curiosity in an industry where content is the product, but people are the business. As a strategic growth specialist, she focuses on ensuring the commercial sustainability, relevance, impact and competitiveness of both STM and HSS products, particularly in an increasingly open-access landscape. Her ability to balance strategic insight with hands-on management has earned her trust and recognition across the academic publishing ecosystem and most importantly, has delivered growth! This success comes from Lyndsey’s strength in leveraging market analysis, with data and leadership to make evidence-based decisions and drive long-term solutions such as transformation plans for entire portfolios.
As a passionate leader, she has built diverse, high-performing global teams, fostering collaboration across time zones and cultures. She is a skilled communicator both as a sought-after public speaker and in utilising communication strategies that build consensus to collectively achieve strategic goals. And this skill is central to being a dedicated coach and mentor, guiding both early-career professionals and senior publishing leaders. Serving as a course tutor for the STM Association, and numerous workshops for journal editors and early-career researchers reflects her commitment to developing future publishing leaders.
Having lived for the last fifteen years in Asia Pacific, she has an extensive global network through which to deliver global reach of both research and researchers. As co-founder of Dixon & Straub, Lyndsey is known across the industry for driving growth, innovation, and integrity. Outside of work, she proudly co-founded one daughter, and you’ll often find them hiking through the hills of Hong Kong.
